One, TWO.

Well, I am behind the power curve with posting, but still a little more frequent than last year. I am posting pictures on the Picasa site every month. Now we are getting ready for our spring family vacation/grandparents visit to the southeast lower 48 (FL, GA, SC) at the end of the week.
February was a warmer and snowier than normal, but it went by without a hitch. So there was a lot of shovelling to be done--still dreaming of the snow blower for next season. David was able to go SC for his grandfather's 90th birthday. Xander and I hung out in AK due to it being such a short trip. I did a few outreach activities with first graders and a science event mainly for girls, which was fun. Of course, I stayed busy with way to much college work. We took Xander on his first play date to the indoor track in town, and he had fun.
March was colder and snowier than normal, and we enjoyed watching Xander develop so much in a month. He started talking a lot more and saying his first sentence, "I love you, mama". There is nothing better than that. I did a little less outreach in March, but still managed to stay busy with everything going on. David and I had some people from Haines over for dinner at the beginning of the month and got some wonderful Haines Beer (sadly, we are out of again). At the end of the month, Xander turned two and was showered with gifts from everyone (thank you). We ended up keeping things simple and doing all the celebrating at the house. At his doctor's appointment, he weight 28 lbs and was 34.5 inches tall.
Spring has finally started in Juneau this April with snow melting more and more everyday and the flowers blooming. Soon all the snow will be gone from the yard and trails, Yeah! It looks like we had the fourth snowiest winter on record (since 1943) with 180 inches. The sun has been shinning more and more as April is normally the driest month in SE AK with high temperatures in the upper 40s to mid 50s. We are getting outside with Xander at least one day a week now, which is great. He has so much fun playing in the puddles and riding his scooter or in his wagon. Will finish my last full time college semester at the end of this month and will only be taking three classes over the summer, yeah. Time to get back to work.
