Fall 09

This fall has been full of fun times for the Becker family. We got to play a lot outside with having more sunny days than normal for the fall (our wettest season in SE AK). We enjoyed family walks down to the Mendenhall River to add more rocks to the river bottom. We also went on trips to Twin Lakes park, Lena Point, the Shrine, Sandy Beach, Auke Bay Harbor and Mendenhall Glacier. On days of what seemed like never ending rain, we went to the book store to play with trains or hang out at home and enjoyed all our toys. Xander discovered his love for jig saw puzzles, and he can do a 35 piece puzzle by himself. Little man has developed so much over the past two months. He weighs around 32 pounds and is 35.5 inches tall. We are still working on potty training, and he has used the potty a couple of times. He is learning to help mommy do stuff (i.e., dishes, making the bed, & cleaning up), playing more with Kuma, maneuvering through nature, making more complex sentences, and using a higher level problem solving skills. He has found an interest in the sun and the moon. Like any little boy, he loves to splash in puddles. Before we know it, we will be playing in the snow again. But, this winter here may be a little more rainy than snowy due to El NiƱo.
David, finally, got to enjoy a vacation without the family to see some old friends in Tucson. He enjoyed himself by eating pizza and sandwiches while playing video games.
I have been bogged down with college, still. Even though I have my bachelor degree, I still need six classes to cross over to a Meteorologist position with NWS. Looks like it will take me two years to finish them due to how much time is required for me to invest in order to pass.
We are still enjoying our new truck, and I cannot wait till our first family road trip in it. We are looking forward to coloring our pumpkin this week and then Halloween with Xander. Like always, I am writing this at o'dark 30, so please excuse my grammar.
