We took the one less traveled by.

The end of summer seemed to come so quickly, but we managed to enjoy it to the fullest.  The sun seemed to come back out, which made things even better.

The rest of July was full of adventures for Xander and us watching him do new things for the first time.  He got to learn how to find treasures (geocaching) and roast a marshmallow and hot dog.  Of course we ventured to new places around town every chance we got.

August seem to come and go so quickly, with me trying to finish up the reminder of my projects.  I was not meant to be a painter, but I did finish painting the oil tank and the front door.  Xander did get to try rock climbing at the indoor rock gym and knocking a pinata.  He even got a brief tour on a Coast Guard cutter, but was worried they were going to sail away with him.  Xander and I decided we should do a nice bike ride (4.5 miles one way) to Herbert Glacier and have a picnic.  David decided he was ready to own a hatch back again and wanted a black car, so he got a 2010 Yaris.  We also were happy to get rid of the doomed 2008 Yaris.

We started out September by going on our first family road trip to Anchorage.  The drive was wonderful, and David drove the whole way.  Needless to say he could not get lost because there was only one road to take, smiles.   When I could convince him to stop, I enjoyed taking pictures of the fall colors in the Yukon.  Xander finally got to use his passport, and he enjoyed napping, watch movies, and peeing outside while on the trip.  Since we drove, we even brought Kuma along for the ride.  Kuma was able to spend some time with his dad (14 years old) and his mom (12 years old).  While at Denise's house, we enjoyed fresh garden food, fish, shopping (probably a little to much), restaurants, beer, the fair, the zoo, the museum, and spending time with friends!  It felt wonderful to drive more than 50 miles and the road did not end.

Shortly after we got home, David left for Charleston and the sun came to give us warm, dry weather like NE Indian summers in the fall.  To be continue...
