Our numbers are growing!

We are happy to announce we will be having another baby boy around the house come the middle of July!  Xander is excited about having a new family member as you can see from the bottom picture on the left, which was when we first told him we were having another baby back in November.  We have decided on the first name of Damon, but we are still debating on what his middle name will be.

My pregnancy started out a little rougher than with Xander.  I think a lot of that had to do with me working all nights and being older.  My doctor thought it might be better if I did not work nights anymore, so I am now mainly working days and evening shifts.  Sadly, my office is also short staffed, so I am getting a lot of grief about my new schedule.  Now, I am in the honeymoon stage of the pregnancy and all is well.  I am getting sleep and able to actually do things with my family.

When Damon comes to add more noise to the house in July, we plan on having him in our room for the first few months or more.  Then he will slowly move him to sharing a room with his big brother or maybe even upstairs for a little while.

A recap to the past four months:

The holidays came and went, while it seemed like winter was never going to start.  As always, Xander received plenty of gifts from everyone! After we took down the holiday decorations, we moved things around again by leaving the guest bed set up the office, changing around the living room, moving my computer back upstairs, and putting more of Xander's toys downstairs.

January was the first month of me working all days and evening shifts after 10 months of nights.  Needless to say it seemed like the month would never end for me.  The weather flipped mainly from cold and clear to cold and rainy with a few days of snow.  Xander transitioned from the Preschool room to the Pre-K room at his daycare.  I even became a board member of his daycare, since we were going to be having a second one attending there this fall.  The change from classes rooms was a little rough for him, since he got injured twice within the first two days, resulting in a bump on his forehead and loosing a front tooth way to early.  Luckily the front tooth came out completely, root and all,  and will be replaced with his adult tooth in couple of years.   He still does miss some of his friends in the preschool room, especially his best friend, Sophia.  Xander did get to enjoy a little sledding with a friend from school, the few times we did get some snow.

Pop pop came to visit for a long weekend in January to spend time with Xander before heading off to work in Afghanistan.  Xander enjoyed spending time with him and not going to school on those days!

February started out warm and rainy (well warm enough to melt almost all the snow around town) and ended in cold and clear, but we finally caught up on our snow! So, Xander got to go sledding with Sophia one weekend.  David had a business trip to Seattle for 4 nights, of which he enjoyed the big city and all the things it has to offer.  David even had the pleasure of going through the new body scanner and dealing with TSA agents that were abusing their privileges.  Needless, to say he was happy be home.

Xander is still doing his swimming classes, but has not made it past level two yet.  He is improving each class.  We will be taking a break after his current class ends in the middle of March till next fall.

Till next time, enjoy the rest of winter, and we are hoping for a sunny and warm spring here.
